A Benton Township accident shut down westbound traffic at Napier and Yore Avenues Monday night. Berrien County Deputy Sheriff Charles Sheren says Benton Harbor's Virginia Bradshaw was trying to turn left onto Napier Avenue, when her Saturn was hit by an eastbound SUV. Bradshaw was taken to Lakeland Healthcare in Saint Joseph for non-life threatening injuries. Sheren says the accident was the result of a number of factors.
Sheren says police had to shut down the westbound Napier Avenue lanes for some time Monday night, because of the accident.
No one else was injured in the crash, and Sheren says the accident looked worse than it was. Sheren says fog, heavy traffic and driver error all played a part in the crash.
